# The Father is Looking for Ones Like These
# Symposium: "Worship With Spirit"
## When Seeking to Understand Jehovah's Direction
Jehovah's spirit works like GPS to guide our paths
**1 Cor 2: 10-13** - 10For it is to us God has revealed them through his spirit, for the spirit searches into all things, even the deep things of God.11For who among men knows the things of a man except the mans spirit within him? So, too, no one has come to know the things of God except the spirit of God.12Now we received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit that is from God, so that we might know the things that have been kindly given us by God. 13These things we also speak, not with words taught by human wisdom, but with those taught by the spirit, as we explain spiritual matters with spiritual words.
Jehovah uses his spirit to reveal matters to his servants
If you want Jehovah's spirit in your life, pray for it
Pray before you read the bible, then work in harmony with that prayer and meditate on what your reading
Jehovah's spirit also works through another channel, the spiritual food provided by the faithful and discreet slave.
Primary ingredients are the bible.
**Isa 48:17** - 17This is what Jehovah says, your Repurchaser, the Holy One of Israel: “I, Jehovah, am your God, The One teaching you to benefit yourself, The One guiding you in the way you should walk.
Jehovah knows where we need to go and what to be, we need to trust in his words instead of second guessing them. He always has our best interest in mind.
**John 14:26** - 26But the helper, the holy spirit, which the Father will send in my name, that one will teach you all things and bring back to your minds all the things I told you.
Spirit can help us remember things that we read before that applies to a certain situation we may be facing
## When Coping With Discouragement
Bible Examples: Rebekah, Job, Elijah
**Romans 12:11** - 11Be industrious, not lazy. Be aglow with the spirit. Slave for Jehovah.
We need to be aglow with the spirit in order for it to help us overcome discouragement
Can also rely on mature Christians for help
Elders: Need to be close to the friends. Spend time with them in the ministry, before and after the ministry, and outside of the congregation
## When Reaching Out to Do More
Rely on Jehovah's spirit by praying to Jehovah and acting on our prayers.
Personal Study
**Acts 13:2** - 2As they were ministering to Jehovah and fasting, the holy spirit said: “Set aside for me Barʹna·bas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”
They received an assignment to preach in foreign lands
**Acts 16:6-10** - 6Moreover, they traveled through Phrygʹi·a and the country of Ga·laʹti·a, because they were forbidden by the holy spirit to speak the word in the province of Asia.7Further, when they came down to Mysʹi·a, they made efforts to go into Bi·thynʹi·a, but the spirit of Jesus did not permit them.8So they passed by Mysʹi·a and came down to Troʹas.9And during the night a vision appeared to Paul—a Mac·e·doʹni·an man was standing there urging him and saying: “Step over into Mac·e·doʹni·a and help us.”10As soon as he had seen the vision, we tried to go into Mac·e·doʹni·a, drawing the conclusion that God had summoned us to declare the good news to them.
Paul and Barnabas had a route a plans and stuff, but upon trying to execute it, they were blocked repeatedly by Jehovah's spirit. Finally they received a vision telling them where to go. They only received direction after they were already in Asia, and after they had failed multiple times. They didn't give up, so we don't give up. We may have an idea of what we want to do, but if we keep hitting roadblocks, we need to keep pivoting.
How can we seek Jehovah's Guidance?
1. Pray
2. Act on our Prayer
**Isa 3:10** - 10Tell the righteous that it will go well for them; They will be rewarded for what they do.
Jehovah will reward us for all of our efforts.
# How We 'Make The Truth Manifest'
I spent most of this talk fixing my Assembly link mistake, so notes will be lacking
We can make the truth manifest in two ways:
- Living the Truth // Conduct
- Teaching the Truth // Ministry
Our conduct can give a powerful witness. It might push away some people, but those with the right heart it will draw
**2 Cor 4:2** - 2But we have renounced the shameful, underhanded things, not walking with cunning or adulterating the word of God; but by making the truth manifest, we recommend ourselves to every human conscience in the sight of God.
We do not walk with cunning or adulterate the word of God. What we teach much be accurate, and must be in harmony with what the Bible teaches.
This means truly studying the scriptures, understanding their meaning and application, and this will result in using the bible effectivley in the ministry.
# The Meaning of Your Baptism
**1 Peter 3:20** - 20who had formerly been disobedient when God was patiently waiting in Noahs day, while the ark was being constructed, in which a few people, that is, eight souls, were carried safely through the water.
Noah and his family had to put a lot of faith in Jehovah.
**1 Peter 3:21** - 21Baptism, which corresponds to this, is also now saving you (not by the removing of the filth of the flesh, but by the request to God for a good conscience), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Faith saved Noah and his family. Baptism is saving our lives.
**1 Cor 10:1**,2 - 1 Now I want you to know, brothers, that our forefathers were all under the cloud and all passed through the sea 2and all got baptized into Moses by means of the cloud and of the sea,
Isrealistes were baptized through Moses. They also needed faith and trust, trapped between the sea and phraroh.
**Luke 1:16,17** - 16and he will turn back many of the sons of Israel to Jehovah their God.17Also, he will go ahead of him with E·liʹjahs spirit and power, to turn back the hearts of fathers to children and the disobedient ones to the practical wisdom of righteous ones, in order to get ready for Jehovah a prepared people.”
&
**Actus 19:4** - 4Paul said: “John baptized with the baptism in symbol of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.”
Johns baptism was a symbol of repentence against sins of the Mosaic Law. It also served as a softening of their hearts to prepare them for the coming of Jesus
Jesus didn't NEED to get baptized, but his baptism was a visible sign that he would do Jehovah's will, no matter what.
**Malachi 3:17** - 17“And they will be mine,” says Jehovah of armies, “in the day when I produce a special property. I will show them compassion, just as a man shows compassion to his son who serves him.
To Jehovah, we are special. We are his "Special Property".
# How Can We Know the Difference Between Right and Wrong?
Most people follow the popular opinion, or follow their heart when making desicions. This is incorrect.
**Prov 14:12** - 12There is a way that seems right to a man, But in the end it leads to death.
Things may seem right, but that does not neccesarily mean it is right.
**Prov 3:32** - 32For Jehovah detests a devious person, But His close friendship is with the upright.
Jehovah has close friendship with those who do what is right

# Symposium "Worship With ... Truth"
## In the Family
**Prov 24:3** - 3By wisdom a house is built up, And by discernment it is made secure.
A strong marriage is built on wisdom, not emotion. This is biblical wisdom
**Eph 5:33** - 33Nevertheless, each one of you must love his wife as he does himself; on the other hand, the wife should have deep respect for her husband.
Two ingredients in a successful marriage are love and respect
Spiritual communication is especially important, as it keeps Jehovah at the center of a marriage.
## In a Divided World
**John 18:36,37** - 36Jesus answered: “My Kingdom is no part of this world. If my Kingdom were part of this world, my attendants would have fought that I should not be handed over to the Jews. But as it is, my Kingdom is not from this source.” 37So Pilate said to him: “Well, then, are you a king?” Jesus answered: “You yourself are saying that I am a king. For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is on the side of the truth listens to my voice.”
Jesus stated that his Kingdom is no part of this world, and that he and his followers would be followers of Truth
**1John 5:19** - 19We know that we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.
This world policital systems are directly under Satans control. We want no part in that.
**John 17:16** - 16They are no part of the world, just as I am no part of the world.
Jesus followers are no part of this world, and have nothing to do with the political system
**Isa 9:7** - 7To the increase of his rulership And to peace, there will be no end, On the throne of David and on his kingdom In order to establish it firmly and to sustain it Through justice and righteousness, From now on and forever. The zeal of Jehovah of armies will do this.
Only Gods Kingdom can bring true justice to the planet
**John 14:30** - 30I will not speak with you much more, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has no hold on me.
Satan had no claim on Jesus, no hold on him. Jesus instead was wholly devoted to Jehovah. We should imitate Jesus
## In Times of Economic Hardship
**Heb 13:5,6** - 5Let your way of life be free of the love of money, while you are content with the present things. For he has said: “I will never leave you, and I will never abandon you.” 6So that we may be of good courage and say: “Jehovah is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”
We are free of the desire to be rich are satified with what we have, in doing so Jehovah will take care of us, and make sure we're going to be fine
**Heb 18:18** - 18Keep praying for us, for we trust we have an honest conscience, as we wish to conduct ourselves honestly in all things.
Conduct ourselves honestly in all things
# Buy Truth and Never Sell It
**Prov 23:23** - 23Buy truth and never sell it, Also wisdom and discipline and understanding.
Theme Scripture
**1 Cor 6:9,11** - 9Or do you not know that unrighteous people will not inherit Gods Kingdom? Do not be misled. Those who are sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, men who submit to homosexual acts, men who practice homosexuality, 11And yet that is what some of you were. But you have been washed clean; you have been sanctified; you have been declared righteous in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and with the spirit of our God.
Truth was so valuable to some, that they completely changed their lifestyle to match what Jehovah expected of them
**Phill 3:8** - 8What is more, I do indeed also consider all things to be loss on account of the excelling value of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have taken the loss of all things and I consider them as a lot of refuse, that I may gain Christ
Paul considered all the things he left behind as refuse compared to the truth he gained through Jesus.
**Luke 23:23** - 23At this they became insistent, demanding with loud voices that he be executed, and their voices prevailed.
- Even though Jesus was innocent, there were loud voices that demanded his death, and they won out. Popular opinions today might have very loud voices that support it, but likely are not correct.
**John 14:21** - 21Whoever has my commandments and observes them is the one who loves me. In turn, whoever loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and will clearly show myself to him.”
If we buy truth and never sell it, both Jehovah and Jesus will love us. They will never forget all we've done to buy Truth.
Blight:: Can you spell check this doc, and stick any words you didn't fix/know at the end of the file? Thanks.

Theme: "I Will Refresh You"
**Matt 11:28** - 28Come to me, all you who are toiling and loaded down, and I will refresh you.
## Introduction
**Matt 6:26** - 26Observe intently the birds of heaven; they do not sow seed or reap or gather into storehouses, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth more than they are.
Jehovah takes care of birds, how much more so will he take care of his faithful servents, especially pioneers and those serving. Especially those doing both.
## Learn From Me: I am mild-tempered and lowly in heart
Infinite number of online classes that come with a cost, but no garuntee of if they'll actually benefit us. Jesus gave us a free masterclass with lasting benefits that is garunteed to help us.
**Matt 11:29** - 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am mild-tempered and lowly in heart, and you will find refreshment for yourselves.
Wisdom is proved righteous by its works = I can show you better then I can tell you
**Luke 4:22** - 22And they all began to give favorable witness about him and to be amazed at the gracious words coming out of his mouth, and they were saying: “This is a son of Joseph, is it not?”
We notice the profound affect Jesus teaching had on his listeners. They were amazed. He was also patient with the people he talked to.
Matt 9:10 - 10Later as he was dining in the house, look! many tax collectors and sinners came and began dining with Jesus and his disciples.
Jesus was very approachable. People also brought children, those who are sick, and others. All were drawn to him
Luke 10:21 - 21In that very hour he became overjoyed in the holy spirit and said: “I publicly praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have carefully hidden these things from wise and intellectual ones and have revealed them to young children. Yes, O Father, because this is the way you approved.
Jesus had immense joy and satisfaction in his ministry
### Main Point
Jesus was an amazing teacher that was kind, patient, deeply cared about the people he talked to, was very approachable, and found joy and satisfaction in his ministry. Mildness & Humility
## Learn From Me: Enjoy the Ministry by Being Mild and Humble
We have the opportunity to learn from the greatest teacher that ever touched the earth, Jesus. If we learn from him, our ministry will improve and we'll find more joy in it.
When Jesus was criticized and made fun of, instead of fighting fire with fire, he let his conduct speak for him.
Jesus also witnessed to all sorts of people
**1 Cor 9:19** - 19For though I am free from all people, I have made myself the slave to all, so that I may gain as many people as possible.
Paul followed in Jesus footsteps, preaching to as many people as he could reach
**Haggai 2:7** - 7And I will shake all the nations, and the precious things of all the nations will come in; and I will fill this house with glory, says Jehovah of armies.
Jehovah is shaking the nations, and the result is honest hearted ones are flocking from the nations into his organization. Jehovah views these people as precious. As such, we should to as well.
Jesus was the greatest teacher on earth, yet he had humility in that he didn't expect everyone to become a discipe. He didn't expect a 100% success rate.
**Prov 25:15** - 15By patience a commander is won over, And a gentle tongue can break a bone.
Fighting fire with fire doesn't work. Instead, we use patience and gentle tounge as our weapons, and they will prove effective, and make Jehovah happy.
**John 15:11** - 11“These things I have spoken to you, so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be made full.
Nobody could take away the joy Jesus had in his ministry. This also applies to us
Some may respond positilvley during the great tribulation
### Main Point
We want to imitate Jesus, preaching to people of all sorts. We also need to be humble, even Jesus didn't expect a 100% success rate. Instead, use patience and gentleness to overcome whatever stands in our way. If we do these things, we will have the same joy Jesus had in his ministry.
## Learn From Me: Refersh Others by being Mild and Humble
Nope to busy sorry.
## Learn From Me: Enjoy Strength in Inner Peace
Not sure on the title, kind of made that one up
Jesus strength was not external, it was internal in the form of restraint.
**2 Tim 2:24,25** - 24For a slave of the Lord does not need to fight, but needs to be gentle toward all, qualified to teach, showing restraint when wronged, 25instructing with mildness those not favorably disposed. Perhaps God may give them repentance leading to an accurate knowledge of truth,
A slave of the lord does not need to fight, showing restraint when wronged, and being gentle toward all.
Putting up with evil, without resentment
Summed up as "Mildness"
**1 Peter 2:21-23** - 21In fact, to this course you were called, because even Christ suffered for you, leaving a model for you to follow his steps closely. 22He committed no sin, nor was deception found in his mouth. 23When he was being insulted, he did not insult in return. When he was suffering, he did not threaten, but he entrusted himself to the One who judges righteously.
Jesus had humility. He was literally the most perfect human in existence. He didn't force outcomes, he didn't demand justice, he entrusted himself to Jehovah.
When we trust that Jehovah is going to take care of things, we have inner peace.
**Phil 4:7** - 7and the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus.
Peace of God guards our hearts and mental powers
Side Note: It surpasses all understanding. In other words, don't waste cylces trying to understand it.
### Main Point
Having Mildness and Humility will result in knowing we can't do everything, and thus throwing our burdens on Jehovah. The result? We will have inner peace from Jehovah. Whenever we're facing something bigger then we can deal with, leave it in Jehovah's hands.
## My Yolk is Kindly and my Load is Light: Accept the Load
Well thats a mouthful
**Matt 11:29** - 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am mild-tempered and lowly in heart, and you will find refreshment for yourselves.
An invitation from Jesus, working side by side with him as fellow workers.
We accept this invitation as baptized loyal Christians. How to?
### Showing modesty in our work.
**Mark 6:30,31** - 30The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him all the things they had done and taught. 31And he said to them: “Come, you yourselves, privately into an isolated place and rest up a little.” For there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure time even to eat a meal.
When the apostles had finished, he didn't send them back out to work. He instead took them on a break to rest up a bit. He was modest
### Keeping things simple
**Luke 9:62** - 62Jesus said to him: “No man who has put his hand to a plow and looks at the things behind is well-suited for the Kingdom of God.”
Keep our eyes on the things ahead, keep our eyes focused on our work, and keep things simple
## My Yolk is Kindly and my Load is Light: Choose the Light Load
**1 Cor 9:26** - 26Therefore, the way I am running is not aimlessly; the way I am aiming my blows is so as not to be striking the air;
We want to spend our time usefully. Going where the people are, and going when the people are
If we have many studies/RV's, may have to reevaluate on if they are truly progressing or not, and if not, cut them off.
### Main Point
Don't make the job harder on ourselves. We have tools, we have resources, we have friends, use them all. Choose the light load, not overburden ourselves.
## My Yolk is Kindly and my Load is Light: Throw off Heavy Loads
**Hebrews 12:1** - 1 So, then, because we have such a great cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also throw off every weight and the sin that easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
Throw off every weight. We often load ourselves up with things Jesus never asked us to deal with. We will discuss three.
### Striving for higher standard of living then we can afford
Cost of living steadily increases. This means more work, more time, and less pioneering.
**1 Tim 6:7,8** - 7For we have brought nothing into the world, and neither can we carry anything out. 8So, having food and clothing, we will be content with these things.
Focus on what matters, and what will persist through eternity, not what will exist temporarily.
### Setting a higher expectation for ourselves then is required
Jehovah does not expect more from us then we are able to give.
I think there was a scripture but I didn't catch it. Something in Galatians.
### Excessive Guilt
**1John 3:19,20** - 19By this we will know that we originate with the truth, and we will assure our hearts before him 20regarding whatever our hearts may condemn us in, because God is greater than our hearts and knows all things.
Jehovah is greater then our hearts, and knows all things. If Jehovah forgives us, who are we to disagree with that? He knows all things.
Prayer and meditation on God's word can have a big impact on forgiving ourselves, and remove excessive guilt.
Keep in mind there is a difference between a personal responsibility, and an uneccesary load. We must distinguish them, but we can pray to Jehovah and ask for him help in figuring out which is which, and which can be thrown off.
### Main Point
Don't add things to our yoke that Jesus didn't add. As we throw them off, we will find more joy in the ministry
## My Yolk is Kindly and my Load is Light: Find Refreshement for Yourselves
**Acts 20:35** - 35I have shown you in all things that by working hard in this way, you must assist those who are weak and must keep in mind the words of the Lord Jesus, when he himself said: There is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving.’”
The most assured way of finding happiness is cited here. More happiness in giving then there is in receiving.
How is Jesus Yoke a refreshment for us?
### We have the best overseers
Contrasted with worldly overseers, Jehovah and Jesus are thankful for what we do, they are merciful, and they know our limitations. They are always going to be appreciative of what we do.
Jehovah provides both what we need, but also the power beyond what is normal to accomplish this work. Jesus provided his example on how we can accomplish this work effectivley.
We also have local congregation elders that support others in the ministry
### We have the best companions
Contrasted with worldly coworkers, we get other pioneers who are doing the same thing we are.
### Because we have the very best work
**John 8:44** - 44You are from your father the Devil, and you wish to do the desires of your father. That one was a murderer when he began, and he did not stand fast in the truth, because truth is not in him. When he speaks the lie, he speaks according to his own disposition, because he is a liar and the father of the lie.
Our job is to disprove the lies about Jehovah, prove Satan a liar, and expose Satan for what he really is.
The only work thats really going to make a difference.
**2 Thess 2:16,17** - 16Moreover, may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and gave everlasting comfort and good hope by means of undeserved kindness, 17comfort your hearts and make you firm in every good deed and word.
Jehovah and Jesus provide for us everlasting comfort, making us firm, all through a good hope
## We Have a Great High Priest
Jesus: A High Priest who Loves You
**Heb 4:16** - 16Let us, then, approach the throne of undeserved kindness with freeness of speech, so that we may receive mercy and find undeserved kindness to help us at the right time.
In ancient times, if someone approached the throne without an invitation, they died. Yet, we have an invitation to the most high throne. We do this through prayer.
**John 14:27** - 27I leave you peace; I give you my peace. I do not give it to you the way that the world gives it. Do not let your hearts be troubled nor let them shrink out of fear.
This is Jesus final night before his death. Jesus was telling his disciples that he was giving them the same peace he had, resulting from Jehovahs Approval. He was telling them that Jehovah, and Jesus, loved them, and loves us today as well.
**Isa 41:10** - 10Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be anxious, for I am your God. I will fortify you, yes, I will help you, I will really hold on to you with my right hand of righteousness.
Jehovah does not promise to take the challenge away, he does promise to help us.
"Do not be afraid, I will help you" repeated in vs 13, and 14. Jehovah is trying to impart something, yes? Shall we listen?
