- The scribes and Pharisees as well as the Sadducees were bitter enemies of Christianity, and they would have used any possible argument to discredit Jesus, but it is noteworthy that they never challenged these genealogies.

- The difference in nearly all the names in Luke’s genealogy of Jesus as compared with Matthew’s is quickly resolved in the fact that Luke traced the line through David’s son Nathan, instead of Solomon as did Matthew. - The reason Mary was not explicitly mentioned in Luke's account, is simply because the Jewish belief at that time, was “The descendant of the mother is not called (her) descendant”

- Ecclesiastes 4:6 -Better is a handful of rest than two handfuls of hard work and chasing after the wind
- A middleground is needed. Keeping in mind with the principles of the two scriptures above, we should help, we should do what we can, but we should not sacrifice our own well being, or family's well being to do so. Especially if its "chasing after the wind."

Total topic switch, is having trouble with his manipulative and demanding mother. Very concerned on wanting to help and provide for her (which he has gone above and beyond), but also doesn't want to keep fueling the problem, with her lack of appreciation, and not stopping with requests. Shared

- Finally found him home, and talked for a while. Spent the first 20ish mins talking about how to make chicken stock, talking about various travels, how good it is to be able to travel. Then taled about Jesus (Christmas), read Acts 4:12, talking about how there is no way through into salvation except through Jesus. Then talked about Jesus being ruler of gods kingdom, and talked about what that is. Asked what he thought it was, and he ended up saying we just don't really know. Read Daniel 2:44, then read Revelation 21:3,4, and talked about what the effects of that kingdom are, and how its something we get to look forward to on earth. Next time maybe show the video of the kingdom, but he'll be gone for at least the next month, so check back early February.
