To the Esteemed Members of the Okinawa Board of Education,

I am writing to express my keen interest in an English Teacher position within the Okinawa school system. As a holder of a Bachelor's Degree in Education and a 120-hour TESOL certification, I was thrilled to see potential opportunities to apply my skills. I am currently residing in Uruma City and am available for an in-person interview at your earliest convenience. I have also attached my resume in both English and Japanese for review.

For over a decade, I have dedicated 10-15 hours per week to teaching, developing a strong ability to tailor educational content to the unique needs of both individual students and groups. My approach is further enriched by a college-grade understanding of Applied Neuroscience and Learning, which provides me with a deeper insight into the learning process. My TESOL training has also equipped me with a familiarity with over forty distinct teaching methodologies, ensuring I can adapt to a variety of classroom scenarios.

My commitment to becoming an effective educator in Japan extends beyond the classroom. I have been diligently studying the Japanese language and can currently read approximately 1,500 kanji. I am confident this dedication will allow for smoother communication with colleagues and a deeper connection with the local community, which is a priority for me.

Please note that I am in Okinawa on a temporary stay until December 24th and would require visa sponsorship for long-term employment. My resume is attached for your review.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I am very enthusiastic about the possibility of contributing to the education of students in Okinawa.

Sincerely,

Spencer Grimes
